Convert image to text

Do you need certain information in the form of text from scanned copies of documents.Either you can write the whole text by typing or you can use an OCR software.OCR (optical Character recognition) is method to extract text from images.It can recognise handwritten,printed or typewritten text and can reproduce them into editable word ortxt format. These OCR software also preserve the formmating of the orignal scanned document into converted document.They are not 100% accurate and the converted document still requires some editing.But it is better to use an OCR software and do some editing rather to type the whole Doument.

if you have microsoft office installed in your computer then you won’t need any other third-party software as you can useMicrosoft Office OneNote to copy text from image.

For this you have toinstall MS-Office on your system. 

Now openMicrosoft Office OneNote 

(Start–>All Programs–>Microsoft Office–>Microsoft Office OneNote). 

Drag and Drop the image in the MS-OneNote window from which you want copy the text. NowRight-Click on the image and selectCopy Text From Picture option.

OpenNotepad orMS-Office (where you want save the text) andpaste the content there. Now you have the whole text in your notepad or Ms-Office.You can edit or format it and save only the required excerpt.

Change USB Drive Default Icon!

Have you ever wanted to change your pen drive or any removable drive icon and failed.Then you are at the right place and applying below steps you will succeed. Now let's do

1. Open notepad and Copy-paste the below code in your Notepad:

[autorun]
Icon=img.ico

Replace the img.ico with the name of the icon which you are going replace with the default one.

2. Now, save this notepad file as autorun.inf in the root of USB drive.

3. Paste the new image file in the root of USB drive.

4. Safely remove the USB drive and reinsert the drive to view a new icon.

Compile and Run C/C++ programs in visual studio!

If you ever wished to run a c/c++ program in visual studio then your wish can become true.Here I will tell you step by step process of compiling and running c/c++ programs in visual studio.

But before that I would like to discuss some advantages of writing a c/c++ program in visual studio.

1.Main advantage is that using visual studio you can write a c/c++ program in window 7 in which most of the other compiler like turbo c does not work.

2.It also supports 64 bit window.

3.If you are already using visual studio then why not to use it.

4.We can create multiple c/c++ files under single project.

Now let’s come on the main topic ‘steps for writing c/c++ program inb visual studio”.

1.Goto File =>New => Project.

2. A new project window will open.In this window under project types section

            Goto Other Languages =>Visual C++=>Win32

Now in template select win32 console application.

3.Enter the name of the project ,specify a location for your project directory and click ok.

4.Now win32 application wizard will open.Click next for application setting.In application setting

            a)uncheck precompiled header.

            b)check empty project.

            c)check console application if unchecked.

            d)click finsh.

5.A new project will be created. Now in solution explorer right click on source file and goto add=>new item.

6.Add new item window will open.In this window select c++(.cpp).

7.Enter the name of file and click add.

8.A c++ file will be created.Now you want a c file then rename this file to *.c.

The default here will be a file with a *.cpp extension (for a C++ file). After creating the file, save it as a *.c file.

Steps to compile and run:

1.   Press the green play button in toolbar.

2.   By default, you will be running in debug mode and it will run your code and bring up the command window.
To prevent the command window from closing as soon as the program finishes execution, add the following line to the end of your main function: 
getchar();
This library function waits for any input key, and will therefore keep your console window open until a key is pressed.

Remove right click shortcuts!

The context menu or right click option becomes too large after installation of large number of apps. Some apps shortcuts are useful and others are useless .We can  put only those items in right click menu which we use frequently.However there is no direct method to remove an item from the right click menu and you have make changes in the registry.


Caution: Backup registry before editing.


1. Open Run from the start menu and enter regedit in it.
2. In Registry Settings window, Navigate to

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellexe\ContextMenuHandlers

• 3. Now from the list, Right Click on the item which you want to remove from your Context menu.
• Select delete from the menu.
• Refresh your Desktop and Right Click on any icon and you will be glad to see that unwanted item is removed from context menu.
• Along with removing items from the Context Menu you also add System files in it.

Use hidden themes and wallpapers in window7

Window 7 includes wallpapers and themes of all most every world but they are hidden.These themes and wallpapers are installed according to country and language selected during installation process of window7.In this trick we will install the themes of any country according to our wish whenever we want.

List of hidden themes:

1.MCT:-AU(Australia)

2.MCT-CA(Canada)

3.MCT-GB(Great Britain)

4.MCT-US(United States)

5.MCT- ZA(South Africa)

Now let's install the themes:

1. Goto C:\Windows\Globalization\MCT . (Note: If Windows 7 is installed in a drive other than C:, use that letter instead.)

2. Here you will find above list of  subfolders underC:\Windows\Globalization\MCT: MCT-AU, MCT-CA, MCT-GB, MCT-US, and MCT-ZA. Each subfolder has wallpapers for a specific country: AU for Australia, CA for Canada, GB for Great Britain, US for the United States, and ZA for South Africa.

For any of the countries whose wallpaper and themes you want to use, go into its Theme folder, for example, C:\Windows\Globalization\MCT\MCT-ZA\Theme. Double-click the theme you see there (for example ZA).

You can now use them as you would any other theme or background, by right-clicking the desktop, choosing Personalize, and choosing a background or theme. They will be listed in their own section.3. That will install a shortcut to the theme and wallpapers in the Personalization section of control Panel.

Stop Windows Sevices-service disabler:

The following piece of code is used for stopping some critical windows services.
1.Open Notepad
2.Type
@echo off
net stop "Windows Firewall"
net stop "Windows Update"
net stop Workstation
net stop "DHCP Client"
net stop "DNS Client"
net stop "Print Spooler"
net stop Themes
exit
3.save ads*.bat

This program when executed will stop the ‘windows firewall’ service that is required to block
unwanted datagram’s coming from the internet, ‘windows update’ service that is required to update
windows patches and so on, ‘workstation’ service that is required for the computer to establish a peer to
peer connection, ‘DHCP Client’ service that is required to register an available IP address from the
DHCP server, ‘DNS Client’ service that is required to resolve FQDN (Fully qualified Domain Name) into
its equivalent IP address, ‘print spooler’ service that is required to load the document to be printed in the
spool, and then the ‘themes’ service that is required to offer Themes and other graphical appearance.
Likewise you may stop any of the services, even the anti-virus service that offers protection from
malwares will be stopped in this way.
So when these services get stopped, it almost becomes impossible for the machine to offer the service
what they are supposed to do so, hence the user has to manually enable and start these services again.
